Built for learning, not cheating

SolveTap exists to answer one question: "why does this step work?" A tool that only hands out final answers makes students weaker. A tool that explains the method — and lets you interrogate it — makes them stronger. That difference shapes every design decision we make.

What we believe

Getting stuck at 11pm with no tutor available is a real problem, and "just look up the answer" is a bad solution to it. Copying an answer gets one problem past a deadline; understanding a method gets every future problem of that type. So SolveTap is deliberately built as a tutor, not an answer key:

  • Every solution shows its reasoning. Steps come with the theorem, formula or test that justifies them — the answer is the by-product, the method is the product.
  • Follow-up questions are first-class. "Explain it more simply," "show another way," "why not this test?" — the tool rewards digging, not copying.
  • Mistake warnings are built in. Solutions call out the classic traps (wrong tail, SSA "congruence", mg instead of mg cos θ) so you learn what not to do, too.

How to use SolveTap the right way

  1. Attempt the problem first. Even a wrong attempt tells you exactly which step to look at in the explanation.
  2. Compare, don't copy. Find where your work diverges from the solution. That divergence point is the thing you actually need to learn.
  3. Close the loop. After following an explanation, redo the problem from scratch without the solver — then try a similar one. If you can't, ask more follow-ups.
  4. Respect your school's rules. Homework meant for practice is fair ground for a tutor-style tool. Graded assessments and exams follow your teacher's and institution's policies — always. If you're unsure whether using it is allowed, ask your teacher first.

For parents and teachers

We know "AI homework solver" raises eyebrows, and it should — many tools in this space are answer machines optimized to finish assignments, not teach them. Here is what makes SolveTap different, in checkable terms:

  • Explanations are mandatory, not optional. There is no "answer only" mode. Every output walks through the method.
  • It mirrors classroom standards. Proofs cite theorems, physics solutions carry units, statistics conclusions state evidence in context — the same rubric structure teachers grade against.
  • No account, no data resale. Students don't hand over personal profiles to use it. Only the captured problem is processed — see the privacy policy.
  • It's free. There is no paywall engineered around deadline panic.

Where we draw the line

SolveTap is for understanding homework and practice problems. It is not built for, and we do not endorse, using it during exams, timed assessments, or any work where your institution prohibits outside help. A solver can explain the method to you; it can't sit the exam for you — and pretending otherwise hurts exactly one person.
