Privacy Policy

This page covers solvetap.com and the Geometry, Physics and Statistics Solver Chrome extensions (together, "SolveTap"). It explains what's processed when you capture a problem, what we never do with it, and how to reach us. No account is required to use SolveTap, and none of this data is sold.

What the extensions process

When you use a SolveTap extension, only the problem you choose to capture — a screenshot, a photo, or pasted text — is sent for processing so an explanation can be generated. That content is processed by our AI provider solely to produce your step-by-step answer. Nothing else on your screen, browsing history or device is captured.

Captured problems are used to generate the explanation shown to you and are not stored for any purpose beyond delivering that response and keeping the service running (for example, basic logging to diagnose errors and prevent abuse).

What the website does

solvetap.com is a static site. It does not require an account, does not set tracking cookies, and does not run third-party analytics scripts. Clicking a "Add to Chrome" button records which solver you clicked in an internal data layer so we can see, in aggregate, which pages are useful — it is not tied to your identity and is not used to build a profile of you.

What we never do

  • We do not sell your data, captured problems, or contact information to anyone.
  • We do not require an account, so we don't hold a password or profile to protect or leak.
  • We do not use captured homework problems for advertising.

Third parties

Generating an explanation from a captured problem requires sending that problem to an AI processing provider. That provider processes the content to return a solution and does not receive any other identifying information from SolveTap. If you install an extension from the Chrome Web Store, Google's own privacy terms also apply to that installation and store account, separately from this policy.

Data retention and your choices

You can stop using a SolveTap extension and remove it from Chrome at any time, which stops any further processing. Because no account exists, there is no profile to delete — uninstalling the extension is the complete opt-out. If you have a specific question about a problem you submitted, contact us using the details below and we'll do our best to help.

Children's privacy

SolveTap is built for students and does not require creating an account or submitting personal information such as a name or email address to use the solvers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the homework problem content needed to generate an explanation.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of SolveTap after a change means you accept the updated policy.
